With a Commercial rating, you can start flying and getting paid for it! It is an important rating in your journey to becoming a professional pilot. You’ll be able to fly and get paid for things like site seeing tours, banner tows, hauling freight, and more.
For Pilots starting the Commercial course, it is assumed that Pilots have met the flight hour requirement per 14 CFR, Part 61.129
MOFT Requirements - 25 hours of flight instruction time, 15 hours of non-complex aircraft rental, and 10 hours of complex aircraft rental.
1. Pay by the Hour. 140/hr wet + 60/hr for instruction (200/hr). No time restrictions for completion
Not included is the Commercial Rating written exam (175.00), the Commercial Rating practical exam (800.00) with the examiner, and Renters Insurance.
2. Purchase block of hours (discounted) – Block of hours include instructor rate and are for flight hours only. There are no time restrictions for block hours. After purchase of block hours with unused time remaining, after decision to discontinue training, the remaining block hours will be allocated back to the flight school. If block time purchase exceeds flight hour requirement, then the refunded amount will be minus the discounted rate.
5 Hour Block – 925.00
10 Hour Block – 1,800 (10% discounted rate)
3. Purchase cost of course up front – 8,500.00 (This includes a 10% discount, 25 hours of Instruction, 15 hours of non-complex aircraft rental, 10 hours of complex aircraft rental, foreflight 1 yr subscription – if not already purchased, the Commercial Oral guide, and the written exam – 175.00.)
Not included is the medical (80.00-175.00), the Commercial Rating practical exam (800.00) with the examiner, and Renters Insurance.
